Types of Payments Are Accepted for Global SoPlace Forum Registration Fees

Malaysian Delegates: Crossed cheque made payable to SOPLACE SUMMIT, or Bank Wire Transfer, or Credit Card via Paypal

International Delegates: Credit Card via Paypal, or Bank Wire Transfer

Accepted Payment Methods through Online Registration

  • Credit Card: The Online Registration accepts Visa, Discover, Amex and MasterCard credit cards through Paypal. Credit Card (in US Dollars only) is the preferred method of payment.
  • Wire Transfer: For international wire transfers, you can proceed with the Online Registration, or alternatively you can download the offline registration form, indicate on the form that you are paying by wire transfer, and email the scanned copy of the completed offline registration form and bank remittance advice to [email protected] Upon confirmation of the remittance, the Summit Secretariat will proceed with the registration procedure and the delegate will be informed accordingly. Any bank charges by intermediate bank must be borne by the delegate. Deadline for payment by bank wire transfer is 48 hours after registration. Failing which, we will cancel your registration with immediate effect. Please clearly indicate the name of the delegate and MPMB2013 in all your bank remittances. The Summit Secretariat should receive the exact amount of registration fees. If not, the delegate has to pay the balance due at the Registration Area. Therefore, the delegate has to add US$ 5-10 for the international transaction cost. Any addition received will be reimbursed at the Registration Area.

Registration fees DO NOT include accommodation of business class.

Letter of Invitation

A letter of invitation will be sent to confirm your attendance to attend the Summit. Such an invitation is extended specifically to assist delegates to obtain travel funds, appropriate visas, approvals, sponsorship or official leave. It does not imply a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any support, financial or otherwise. Upon confirmation of your registration payment, you will be receiving an official letter of invitation.

Certificate of Award Nomination Accreditation

All certified award nominees can collect their Certificate of Award Nomination at the World Sense of Place Awards Secretariat on the Ground Floor PICC on the 30th October 2013 after 6.00pm.

Confirmation of Registrations

Upon confirmation and receipt of your registration payment, you will receive a personalised confirmation and invoice by email which includes a letter of invitation, and the link to an online form for airfare discount code booking details with Qatar Airways, dietary requirement, accommodation details, visa application assistance if applicable, and arrival time for airport transfer. Also, you will be able to print out your seat e-ticket.

Approximately two weeks before the Summit you will receive an email including your personalized identification barcode (for fast and easy Summit access) as well as all other logistical details and important Summit information.

Replacement & Cancellation Policies

Cancellations of confirmed registrations are subject to an administrative charge of US$ 10 provided the cancellation is received before August 30, 2013. For cancellations received after this date no refunds will be made. All cancellations must be made in writing to the Registration Unit ([email protected]) and refunds after deduction of administrative charge will be made after the Summit by 30th November 2013. Substitutions/replacements are accepted any time prior to the start of the summit (October 2013) at no additional cost. Replacements (= delegate name change) of a confirmed registration may be made until October 27, 2013 free of charge.


Please be advised that all rebates will be made in cash and to be transacted through bank wire transfer by October 31, 2013. During your delegate registration at the Registration Area, delegates will be given a form for bank remittance details.

Certificate of Attendance

All registered delegates can collect their Certificate of Attendance at the Registration Area on the 2nd floor of the Putrajaya International Convention Centre as of 30th October 2013 after 6:00pm.

Student Discounts

Yes, MPMB2013 is committed to supporting students engaged in higher education in the field of sense of place. To encourage students to take advantage of the learning and networking opportunities through the MPMB2013, we offer the Place Champion Programme and volunteer option for students.

To be able to register for the programme, you can proceed to email [email protected] and you will need to be able to provide proof of being enrolled in a university or college programme at the time of the summit registration.
